Global Conference 2014
Southeast Asia: Roaring and Ready for Investment and Regional Integration
Tuesday, April 29, 2014 / 3:45 pm - 4:45 pm
While China and its emerging-economy classmates - Russia, Brazil, India and South Africa - hold the spotlight, the world often overlooks a region that has been one of the strongest and most sustained growth stories - Southeast Asia. The 10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) generate $2.1 trillion in gross domestic product and boast a 600-million-strong marketplace hungry for consumer goods. As China's workforce ages, Vietnam and other Southeast Asia nations are positioned to provide the workforce and low manufacturing costs to supply global markets and build their own middle classes. Panelists from Southeast Asia will discuss this burgeoning region's economic potential and the many attractive investment opportunities for U.S. and global businesses, as well as the risks.
