The Road to Profit in Alternative Fuels
Wednesday, April 30, 2014 / 10:00 am - 11:00 am
As unease about climate change and Mideast instability persists, policies are being implemented in California, New York and New England to reduce, if not end, U.S. dependence on oil. Typically this is thought of as a cost, but could shifting from a single fuel to a multiple choice market in the transportation sector create lucrative opportunities? One group working on this goal is the Fuel Freedom Foundation. In the past, such movements had no allies among automobile manufacturers, but that's changed now that companies such as Toyota are developing vehicles powered by fuel cells. This panel will focus on a shift in the transportation value chain and potential alliances among likeminded groups. It will also discuss the types of investment needed to fuel a market for fuel-cell vehicles.
