Juan Enriquez

Juan Enriquez is managing director of Excel Venture Management. He is also an investor in early-stage companies in the life-sciences and big-data sectors. A leading authority on the uses of genomic code, Enriquez co-founded Synthetic Genomics, among other startups. He is the author of the best-seller "As the Future Catches You," and "The Untied States of America: Polarization, Fracturing, and Our Future." He co-authored "Evolving Ourselves: How Unnatural Selection and Nonrandom Mutation Are Shaping Life on Earth" and "Homo Evolutis." Enriquez writes, speaks and teaches about the profound impacts of genomics and other life sciences. A TED All Stars speaker, he was one of the first two guest curators for TED (Bill Gates was the other). Enriquez was founding director of the Harvard Business School Life Sciences Project and is a member of a Harvard Medical School Advisory Council. His articles have appeared in numerous publications, including the Harvard Business Review, Foreign Policy, Science, Nature and the New York Times.
